Getting Around Carts

For Ocean Reef members and guests, electric road carts are a favorite mode of getting around the community. Many of the carts are privately owned by members and customized to reflect their personal style. The Club also maintains a rental fleet for guests' use. Electric road carts provide quiet, pollution-free and energy-efficient transportation. The total number of private and rental carts at Ocean Reef Club exceeds 3,000.

Dress Code

Dining Attire: The required attire for gentlemen in all restaurants is best described as “Keys Casual”——collared shirts and dress trousers in the winter season and equally appropriate attire for ladies. If worn, shorts must be of walking length. Please note that blue jeans are only allowed in The Galley, Burgee Bar, Raw Bar and the Ocean Room breakfast service. During the winter season, sport coats are preferred in Michelle’s at Carysfort and the members-only Golf Clubhouse, with neckties optional.

Recreation Attire: Golf and Practice Range require collared shirts for men (no mock turtle necks) and appropriate golfing shorts or trousers. Sleeveless golf blouses with collars are permissible for ladies, as well as other appropriate golfing attire. Golf shoes must have non-metal spikes and shirt tails must be tucked in at all times. Appropriate tennis clothing and footwear are required on the tennis courts and all-white attire must be worn on the croquet courts. Bathing suit cover-ups as well as footwear must be worn in all areas away from the Buccaneer Island beach and pool. Thong-style bathing suits are not allowed. Shirts must be worn for jogging, walking and other forms of exercise within the community. All shirts worn by gentlemen within the community must have sleeves. Gentlemen are expected to remove their hats when indoors.

Unacceptable Attire: Tank tops, tank-style undershirts and jogging tops for men, crop and jogging tops for women, frayed cut-offs and tattered jeans are not acceptable attire. Shirts with sleeves are required at all times in all public areas other than the pool.
