NCAHMA Member Designation
In the interest of creating more accountability and professionalism in the field of affordable housing market analysis NCAHMA members may participate in a voluntary member designation program. NCAHMA Members wishing to use the NCAHMA Member Designation must meet the following criteria:
Membership
All analysts wishing to use NCAHMA’s member designation must be members in good standing of the National Council of Affordable Housing Analysts. Click here for NCAHMA membership information, or contact Thom Amdurt at 202-939-1753 or tamdur@housingonline.com to join.
Continuing Education
Professional members must complete a minimum of 16 hours per year of continuing education units (CEUs). This requirement can be met by attending relevant educational meetings and sessions at NCAHMA & NH&RA conferences, as well as approved classes from other organizations. A minimum of 8 credit hours of CEUs must come from NCAHMA sessions. NCAHMA provides sufficient hours of educational content at our conferences, enabling members to fulfill each year’s requirements entirely from NCAHMA sessions, if so desired.
NCAHMA requires market analysis practitioners who sign and certify reports using the NCAHMA member designation to meet these continuing education requirements. Members who research and present white papers or participate in other in-depth NCAHMA panels or sessions will receive four CEUs hours. This requires approval on a case by-case basis by the Education & Membership Committee.
Peer Review
NCAHMA's Peer Review process occurs at time of initiation of the member designation program and then every three years. NCAHMA's peer review is voluntary, but must be completed in order to use the NCAHMA member designation. Click here for an overview of NCAHMA's Peer Review process.
Note: Adherence to NCAHMA’s Model Content Standards, Index, and Terminology are key components to a successful submission. Furthermore, the Peer Review process is intended to be an educational undertaking designed to evaluate the member’s understanding of the market study process, as well as his or her ability to produce a report with credible conclusions that are determined not to be misleading in any manner.

Participation in councils is a primary benefit of membership in NH&RA.
Our councils keep members abreast of critical industry developments, new business opportunities and are leading advocates for the issues you care about most on Capital Hill and HUD, IRS, CDFI Fund, National Park Service and the State Housing Finance Agencies.
Perhaps most importantly, membership in NH&RA councils provides access to a peer group and network that WILL help you generate new business and create efficiencies in your operations. NH&RA members know that by sharing their insight and know-how we are all able to grow our businesses. Council membership is complimentary for NH&RA members. They meet in person and via conference call through out the year.
