The National Housing and Rehabilitation Association is hosting a training for CDLAC applicants to discuss the new CDLAC scoring and learn how to complete the new TCAC and CDLAC application spreadsheets.

Under the leadership of State Treasurer, Fiona Ma, the four state housing agencies convened a task force and developed universal Spreadsheets to be used in 2022 applications for financing. The spreadsheets incorporate new features and new mechanics to expedite application preparation and review. This training gives you the opportunity to learn from task force members how the new tools work and how to get the most out of their new features.

Trainers

  • Justin Chubb, Novogradac

Justin Chubb Lurya is a principal in the Long Beach, Calif., office of Novogradac. He specializes in community development and affordable housing, including the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), new markets tax credit (NMTC), historic rehabilitation tax credit (HTC), nonprofit organizations, and opportunity zones (OZ) industries. Mr. Chubb Lurya also has experience with the auditing requirements of HUD, OMB Uniform Guidance, CalHFA, and HCD. In addition to providing traditional audit and tax services, he provides various consulting and forecasting services, and has worked extensively on structuring LIHTC, NMTC, HTC, and OZ transactions. Mr. Chubb Lurya graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is licensed in California as a certified public accountant.

Craig Staswick is a partner in the Long Beach, Calif., office of Novogradac. Mr. Staswick provides tax, attestation and consulting services to a variety of entities, including partnerships, developers, syndicators and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Staswick has more than 14 years of professional experience serving clients in the affordable housing and community development industries, including the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-regulated properties, and the historic rehabilitation tax credit (HTC). In addition to providing traditional audit and tax services, he specializes in structuring LIHTC and HTC transactions, audits of LIHTC final cost certifications for various state housing agencies, LIHTC Year 15 disposition issues, and cost segregation studies. He is the author of numerous LIHTC related articles, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars on affordable housing and community development industry topics. Mr. Staswick is an associate member of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Long Beach. He is licensed in California as a certified public accountant.
