Public housing agencies (PHAs) nationwide now have additional resources to tap for strategic, operational, programmatic and financial guidance from Enterprise Advisors Inc. Part of the Enterprise Community Partners Inc. family of companies, Enterprise Advisors provides a broad range of services  to PHAs, state Housing Finance Agencies, municipalities, nonprofits and regional bodies.

“Enterprise Advisors is eager to expand the services we offer to public housing agencies to include the creative, strategic and operational support we provide to a range of clients across the nation,” said Paul Bernard, vice president, Enterprise Advisors. “Public housing agencies are on the front lines of tackling the affordable housing challenges in their communities, and we look forward to strengthening our engagement with them to improve service delivery to residents and more effectively achieve their missions.”

Enterprise Advisors has recently broadened its advisory services to support HUD’s Moving to Work (MTW) demonstration, which provides PHAs with flexibility to design and test innovative, locally-designed strategies to spend dollars more efficiently, help residents achieve self-sufficiency and increase housing choices for low-income families.

To date, Enterprise Advisors has provided support to over 300 PHAs including MTW agencies. As HUD moves forward with expanding the MTW demonstration, Enterprise Advisors is uniquely positioned to engage with PHAs, their residents, partners and stakeholders to develop MTW activities and evaluation strategies, assemble a successful application, transition into the MTW demonstration and implement a successful MTW program that is driven by local needs. In addition to MTW, Enterprise Advisors has the expertise to provide a menu of complementary services to help PHAs operate more effectively through strategic community investment, visioning and planning.

Enterprise Advisors’ services now also include guidance to PHAs to identify and prioritize goals and develop strategies for 1) program implementation; 2) real estate development and finance training to help PHAs fully leverage public-private partnerships like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, America’s primary tool for creating and preserving affordable homes; and 3) expert advice on the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program to help PHAs master project feasibility, portfolio planning and resident services development. Together, these expanded offerings will help PHAs modernize, adapt to changing environments and develop innovative approaches to providing housing assistance, strengthening their ability to achieve their goals and better serve their communities.

Nearly 19 million families nationwide are housing insecure, either homeless or paying more than half of their monthly income on housing. Enterprise’s generational goal is to end housing insecurity in the U.S. through well-designed, affordable homes connected to resources like health care, schools, jobs and transportation.
