Overall, this year’s CPD budget represents a 2% increase in allocation over 2016. Accounting for the change:
- 30% reduction in Self-Help Home Ownership (SHOP) for Veterans
- 26% increase to the Housing Trust Fund
- 4% increase to Homeless Assistance Grants
- additional $40 million to homeless assistance grants for rapid rehousing to assist communities that lost significant capacity to serve homeless due to emergency/natural disasters
- 30% increase to Youth Demo Project
- 6% increase to Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).
