On November 28 the Senate Banking Committee voted to approve Brian Montgomery nomination to serve as FHA commissioner on an 18-5 vote.  President Trump made the announcement on September 12 of his intent to nominate Montgomery.  Now, Montgomery’s nomination moves on to a full Senate vote.  It is unclear at this stage when this vote will be scheduled.

If the nomination is successful, it will be Brian Montgomery’s second time serving as FHA commissioner, where he would take over for acting FHA Commisioner Edward Golding.  Montgomery currently business consultant and previously served eight years under the Bush administration and included as Acting Secretary of HUD during the first 6 months of the Obama administration.
