WNC, a national investor in real estate and community development initiatives, announced today that real estate private equity veteran Ann Caruana has joined the firm as senior vice president of acquisitions for the company’s preservation equity funds.

“Central to the mission of WNC is the preservation and protection of the already insufficient supply of affordable housing in our nation, and I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Ann to our firm to lead the pursuit of acquisitions for our preservation equity funds,” said Will Cooper Jr., president and chief executive officer of WNC. “Ann is a seasoned professional with a unique blend of affordable housing and traditional multifamily investment experience. She will serve as an important member of our executive team.”

Prior to joining WNC, Caruana served as senior vice president, acquisitions with a California based real estate private equity firm where she closed $250 million in affordable multifamily transactions and secured $157 million in new or assumable debt. Prior to that, Caruana spent nine years with a public REIT where she served in various research and investment roles, including senior director of market research, director of market research, senior investment analyst and investment manager. She began her career in 2003 with Marcus & Millichap.

Caruana earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami.
