The National Association for Opportunity Zone Investment (OZI) submitted its comment letter to Treasury’s proposed rule on Investing in Qualified Opportunity Funds. OZI’s comments seek to establish an informal safe harbor for plain vanilla, prudent and “down the middle of the fairway” transactions.
Treasury canceled it scheduled Jan. 10 hearing on the proposed rule. A new public hearing date will be announced once appropriations for the Department of the Treasury have been restored. The new hearing will be scheduled for a date that is at least two weeks after the issuance of the notice announcing the new hearing date.
