Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Boston invites applications from community development corporations (CDCs) and community housing development corporations (CHDOs) in Massachusetts for capacity building support to drive inclusive investment in one or more low income communities that has been designated a federally-qualified opportunity zone by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Applications must be submitted to LISC Boston by 5 pm EDT on May 10.

Eligible nonprofits can request up to $25,000 each to fund activities that will proactively seed inclusive investment in one or more opportunity zones.  Eligible activities could include (but are not limited to) planning and community engagement; feasibility analyses; outreach to developers, entrepreneurs, anchor institutions and investors; creation of smart growth districts or overlay zoning; pathways to expedited development approvals, creation of incentives for targeted development or investment types and marketing opportunity zones or communities.  Each application must evidence support from the municipality, and each municipality is asked to support just one proposal.

LISC will hold information sessions with potential applicants on Monday, April 22 at noon EDT and Friday, May 3 at 2 pm EDT.
