President Trump named Scott Turner as the executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. Turner will work with HUD Secretary Ben Carson who chairs the council to direct federal funding to opportunity zones. Turner served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2013 through 2017 and played in the NFL from 1995 to 2004 for the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos. After retiring from the NFL, Turner served as the Chief Inspiration Officer at Systemware, Inc. in Addison, TX, and a Senior advisor to the NFL’s EVP of Football Operations.

Turner volunteers and serves on several community boards including the Baylor University Medical Center Board of Trustees, Dallas Baptist University Board of Trustees, and Guide Stone Financial Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Robin of 23 years, are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon and occasional guest pastor.
