Chesapeake Community Advisors (CCA) is holding its 10th Annual Golf Tournament on June 3 at the Sparrow Point Country Club (919 Wise Avenue Baltimore, MD 21222. Each year the Ben Etheridges’s CCA golf tournament fundraises for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Both of Ben’s twins have type 1 diabetes. Megan has successfully managed this disease since she was nine and Trevor has managed this disease since he was fourteen. They are now both 26 and are successful college graduates working in Boston, but the challenge of managing this complicated disease remains with them every hour of every day.
Since Ben’s untimely passing on June 30, 2018 the tournament has been renamed “Ben’s Friends Golf Classic.” Organizers hope to raise 50 percent more than last year in honor of Ben’s legacy and in recognition of the 10th anniversary of the tournament.
