Enterprise New York is managing Project Parachute, which will keep New York renters hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic safely in their homes. Enterprise is partnering with seven social service providers to support the most vulnerable New Yorkers, especially those who would otherwise slip through the safety net including undocumented immigrants and shadow economy workers. Project Parachute will provide assistance to these families and individuals, including access to emergency food and benefits, financial and rental assistance, eviction prevention counseling and workforce training.

Project Parachute is one of many steps needed to support tenants and prevent homelessness, and will be complimented by their ongoing advocacy for comprehensive solutions, including much needed federal funding for rental assistance, as well as our ongoing collaboration with government partners.

Project Parachute would not be possible without seed funding from a coalition of over 40 owners of affordable and market-rate housing. If you are a donor interested in joining this exciting new partnership, please reach out to Megan Knighton at mknighton@enterprisecommunity.org.
