The Senate Appropriations Committee advanced its FY 2022 appropriations bill for Agriculture, Rural Development, and the Food and Drug Administration. The bill contains substantial funding increases for several USDA rural housing programs, including $1.45 billion for rural rental assistance, an increase of $40 million. The committee voted to favorably report the bill by a vote of 25–5, with all Democrats and all but five Republicans voting in support.
