Last week, U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich upheld the eviction moratorium that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued on August 3. Judge Friedrich said the ban implemented by could continue because it was strikingly similar to an earlier version that the DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled could stay in force. She agreed that the CDC lacked the authority to issue the eviction moratorium, but agreed to let it remain in place while it undergoes litigation. The National Association of Realtors filed a motion to block the eviction moratorium.
