Dominium announced the land closing of The Commons, a pro-bono project furthering the mission to provide high-quality affordable housing to its communities across the U.S. In partnership with nonprofit co-developers, the 50-unit apartment community will aid homeless individuals and families in the Colorado Springs area.

“This will be the first project in Colorado Springs to serve homeless families and Dominium is grateful to be furthering the important mission of increasing housing options as such in the area,” said Dominium Vice President & Project Partner Jeff Huggett.

Dominium also announced the closing of Woodway Square located in Austin, TX. The development, which was originally built in 2003 using four percent LIHTCs, contains 240 apartment homes and will expand Dominium’s existing portfolio in the Austin metropolitan area.

“Woodway Square will be a great addition to our housing goals across Texas as we continue to seek opportunities to support communities,” said Dominium Vice President & Project Partner Ryan Lunderby. “With this development we look forward to continuing our mission to bring much-needed affordable housing to Austin.”

Dominium also announced the closing of Oaks at St. John, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, a suburb of Jacksonville, FL. The apartment community will be resyndicated in 2022, at which time it will go through a $6 million rehabilitation.

“We are excited to be adding to Dominium’s existing portfolio in Florida with this apartment community that will provide much-need affordable housing to the area,” said Vice President & Project Partner Terry Sween.
