Yesterday, the House voted to raise the debt limit by $480 billion through December 3, the same day federal appropriations will run out. Congressional action comes before October 18, after which Treasury Secretary Dr. Janet Yellen said the U.S. would be unable to pay its debts. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to negotiate the topline number for the partisan reconciliation package, currently hovering around $2 trillion.
