Yesterday, the Senate voted to discharge the nomination of Julia Gordon to serve as commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration/deputy secretary of HUD’s Office of Housing. The discharge motion advances Gordon’s nomination from the Senate Banking Committee to the Senate floor, after which a Senate vote will be required to approve her nomination. NH&RA supports Gordon’s nomination and urges the Senate to move quickly to fill this important position that has been left vacant for too long.
