HUD released the 2023 operating cost adjustment factors (OCAFs) for project-based rental assistance with an anniversary date on or after Feb. 11, 2023. The nationwide OCAF increased by 6.1 percent, ranging from 4.8 percent in South Dakota to 8.3 percent in Maine. OCAFs are annual factors used to adjust Section 8 rents renewed under section 515 or section 524 of the Multifamily Assisted Housing Reform and Affordability Act of 1997.
