President Joe Biden (D) announced that the national public health emergency declarations from COVID-19 will end in May. The emergency declarations granted the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service regulatory flexibility for LIHTC developments, like the most recent Notice 2022-52, which extended placed-in-service (PIS) deadlines by one year for allocations starting in 2019. NH&RA and our partners will continue working with Treasury and IRS ahead of the official end of the public health emergency declarations to determine a path forward.

A stakeholder engagement session is being held on April 25 at 2 p.m. ET and those interested in participating are encouraged to register.
