On March 28 at 10 a.m. ET, the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies (THUD) subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee will hold its annual Oversight Hearing with Inspectors General from HUD and the Department of Transportation. HUD Inspector General Rae Oliver Davis will cover the following topics within her testimony.

  • Initiatives to Reduce Environmental and Public Health Hazards; and
  • HUD’s Top Management Challenges and Corresponding OIG Oversight:  
    • Ensuring access to and availability of affordable housing;
    • Mitigating counterparty risks in mortgage programs;
    • Eliminating hazards in HUD-assisted housing;
    • Managing human capital;
    • Increasing efficiency in procurement;
    • Improving information technology (IT) modernization and cybersecurity;
    • Sustaining progress in financial management;
    • Administering disaster recovery;
    • Grants management; and
    • Fraud risk management.
