Last week, HUD announced that they updated Fair Market Rents (FMRs) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 and released an additional $113 million in Housing Choice Vouchers to public housing agencies to help 9,500 families to meet these growing costs. HUD found that rents rose once again, adding the strain on housing costs for American families. The updated FMRs and additional funding will assist households to utilize vouchers in a competitive rental market.

House Announces Tax Teams
House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) announced the establishment of ten “Tax Teams,” made up of Republican members of the committee, that will each focus on a specific aspect of tax policy to prepare for what is expected to be major tax legislation next year in advance of the expiration of many provisions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
