EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin officially notified National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) and Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) recipients that their grants were terminated.

NCIF and CCIA comprised $14 billion and $6 billion, respectively, of the overall $20 billion of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF).

Three groups have filed lawsuits against the EPA or Citibank, the financial agent charged with distributing GGRF funds:

  1. Climate United;
  2. Coalition for Green Capital; and
  3. Power Forward Communities.

What they’re saying: Representative Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Ed Markey (D-MA), authors of the National Climate Bank Act, released a statement in support of the Climate United lawsuit.
