  NH&RA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which is elected annually by its membership at the organization’s annual meeting. The Executive Committee is comprised of the organization’s officers and is elected annually by the Board of Directors. Professional staff provide for the day-to-day operations of the association and report to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Deputy Secretary Hughes Confirmed

The Senate confirmed Andrew Hughes as the deputy secretary of HUD along party lines (51-43).

He served as chief of staff under former HUD Secretary Ben Carson during President Trump’s first term.
Hughes worked on Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign and briefly on Donald Trump’s campaign.
He also served as the executive director and CEO of the American Cornerstone Institute, a think tank founded by Carson.
