A bipartisan House coalition of 76 lawmakers from the Build America Caucus and Congressional Real Estate Caucus sent a letter urging House leadership to “strip or substantially revise” language targeting large institutional investors in single-family housing in the Senate’s 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
What They’re Saying: The provision in the housing package “would have far reaching and unintended consequences that run counter to the bill’s stated goal of expanding housing opportunity” and goes “far beyond its intended purpose” and could reduce rental options.
