  NH&RA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which is elected annually by its membership at the organization’s annual meeting. The Executive Committee is comprised of the organization’s officers and is elected annually by the Board of Directors. Professional staff provide for the day-to-day operations of the association and report to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Secretary Turner Seeks Feedback from Tribal Leaders on Environmental Review Process

Secretary Scott Turner instructed the Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) to request comments and feedback from Tribal leaders regarding environmental regulations and how HUD can reduce challenges associated with the environmental review process.

Why It Matters: Following the feedback period, HUD intends to revise its regulations related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental requirements for Tribal Programs. Further changes to additional HUD programs could soon follow per President Trump’s Executive Order (EO) 14154, Unleashing American Energy.
