The Appropriations Committees in the House and Senate released another batch of FY26 bills to begin negotiations:

  1. Financial Services and General Government
  2. National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs

By the Numbers: This new package means the House and Senate are actively negotiating five bills; they have already passed and funded three of the 12 bills.

HUD funding is one of the remaining four bills still outstanding. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities blog post shows state-by-state numbers of what housing cuts proposed by the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans could mean for critical housing and homelessness programs.

What’s Next: Congress has just 16 days to either pass the remaining appropriations bills or approve another continuing resolution (CR) before the current CR expires on January 30.
