The Office of Multifamily Housing Programs announced the appointment of Bonitta Smith as the Multifamily Southeast Regional Director.
With more than 30 years of experience in Multifamily Housing, Bonitta brings a comprehensive perspective shaped by her work across Production, Asset Management, and leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. She served as Acting Regional Director for over a year where she guided the region to exceed its 2025 national multifamily performance goals. She is a graduate of HUD’s Emerging Leaders Program, Leadership Development Program, and a recipient of the Federal Executive Association Supervisory Leadership Award and the 2022 Secretary’s Award for cross-collaboration with Field Policy Management.
