Last week, the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) released its draft 2012 Qualified Allocation Plan for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Approximately $1.9 million will be available. Some highlights include the following:

  • Modified certain pool amounts and created new Housing Creation Pool;
  • Increased the Developer’s Fee percentage limits (the maximum Developer’s Fee of $1 million did not change);
  • Removed the Local and Community Notice requirement as a threshold requirement;
  • Added new point categories for: Promoting Balanced Housing Opportunities; Extremely Low-Income; and Access to Transit;
  • Changed application due date to April 13, 2012 and added 48-hour “cure period” for applicants to address defects with their application.
