The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has issued a notice detailing new actions taken to lessen the administrative burdens and improve the application process for the Fall 2012 LIHTC allocation application round. The application period is expected to begin on October 12, 2012. These actions include:

  • DHCD has established four priority categories for project applications to the fall 2012 funding round. Each project submitted to the round is expected to fit within at least one category in order to be eligible for consideration.
  • The agency has developed a pre-application form which all sponsors of rental projects must submit by August 1, 2012 to be considered for funding. DHCD believes this form will help staff determine whether a project is eligible for consideration in the October 12 competition.

DHCD will host a question and answer session on the new priority categories and pre-application process on July 9 at 1:30 pm at 100 Cambridge Street, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA. Interested participants should RSVP to Matt Seadale at matthew.seadale@massmail.state.ma.us. No more than two representatives from each organizations will be permitted to attend.
