The Community Development Financial Institution Fund (CDFI Fund) has announced that the agency will consider extending the NMTC application deadline (currently September 12, 2012 at 5:00 pm EST) to accommodate applicants that have been directly affected by Hurricane Isaac. In general, to be eligible for an application deadline extension, an applicant must demonstrate that it cannot submit its application by the deadline because:

  1. Its principal place of business is located in a county which the has designated as affected by a “major disaster” declared since August 29, 2012; or
  2. There exist mitigating factors directly attributable to the disaster-related conditions in a county which FEMA has designated as affected by a “major disaster” declared since August 29, 2012.

If you would like to request an application deadline extension, you must send your request via e-mail to cdfihelp@cdfi.treas.gov with the subject line “Deadline Extension Request: 2012 NMTC Allocation Application” by 5:00 pm EST on September 10, 2012.
