Three out of the four recent Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) implementation grants were awarded to projects that involve NH&RA members:

  • Columbus, Ohio: Lead  Applicant, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority; Private Developer Partner, McCormack Baron Salazar
  • Norwalk, Connecticut: Lead  Applicant, Housing Authority of the City of Norwalk; Co-Applicant, Norwalk Redevelopment Agency; Private Developer Partner, Trinity Financial
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Lead Applicant, Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh; Co-Applicant, City of Pittsburgh; Private Developer Partner, McCormack Baron Salazar

CNI program funds are intended to transform distressed public and assisted housing into sustainable, mixed-income housing with connection to key assets and services and to support positive outcomes for families living in the development and in the neighborhood. HUD received 44 applications for implementation grants; the four grantees will receive a combined total of nearly $120 million in award from the FY13 competition funds.
