The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) has released New Markets Tax Credit Program (NMTC Program) eligibility data for 2010 census tracts in the Island Areas of the United States (American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands).

The updated eligibility data is now available in CIMS3, the CDFI Fund’s virtual mapping system. In addition, the CIMS3 update also includes a variable calculating the ratio of the census tract unemployment rate to the national unemployment rate.

To provide guidance to NMTC Program Allocatees on these changes, the CDFI Fund is providing an updated version of the Census Transition FAQ document and the 2006-2010 American Community Survey Eligibility Data spreadsheet on its website at www.cdfifund.gov/acs and www.cdfifund.gov/nmtc.

These updates do not impact any of the pre-existing NMTC eligibility data for the 50 states, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.

Questions about the update may be sent to the CDFI Fund’s Help Desk at cdfihelp@cdfi.treas.gov or by calling 202-653-0421. For more information about the CDFI Fund and its programs, please visit www.cdfifund.gov.
