Governor Bill Haslam has named Memphis-area homebuilder Kim Grant Brown to serve as chair on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors. She chaired her first meeting July 25.

Brown was appointed to the board in December 2015. She has served on the Audit & Budget, Grants, Rental Assistance and Tax Credit Committees, and chair of the Rental Assistance Committee.

She manages her own construction company and has a partnership with the family real estate firm, Grant & Company. The Grants develop subdivisions and build homes in Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Lakeland, and Memphis as well as in norther Mississippi. The company’s home office is located in Collierville.

“I have enjoyed my time on the THDA Board of Directors already, and I’m grateful to the governor for giving me this additional opportunity,” said Brown. “THDA’s work in helping families achieve their dreams follows my family’s traditions and business focus.”

Brown is the first woman to chair the board. She is joined in the leadership by Vice Chair Dorothy Cleaves.
