The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) released draft 2019 Bond Gap Financing (BGF) Guidelines for comment. Approximately $10 million is available through the BGF program this year. The tentative deadline for Round 1 proposal applications is July 3. Comments can be sent to KBanyai@ohiohome.org by April 1.

Site Visits
OHFA would like to clarify how site visits are being addressed in the 2019 Competitive Low Income Housing Credit Round.

  • Projects seeking consideration in the Preservation Pools for Good Management must participate in a site visit prior to the release of awards to confirm eligibility for any points associated with this competitive category. OHFA is currently working to contact applicants to conduct these visits.
  • For all other projects, OHFA will only be conducting site visits on those projects which will be advancing to a final application. The purpose of these visits is to ensure projects are in compliance with any threshold requirements related to the location of the project and/or the need for rehabilitation. Developers will be notified after the results of the round are released on May 15, 2019 regarding the date of the site visit.

Save the Date for the 2020-2021 QAP Pre-draft Forum
The OHFA will hold a 2020-2021 QAP Pre-draft Forum on April 11 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. EDT at the Main Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 South Grant Avenue.

Funding Available for Innovative Technical Assistance Proposals
OHFA’s Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Fund expands access to affordable housing in Ohio. Funding is available for projects that provide technical assistance in service of affordable housing endeavors. Projects are intended to last one year and align with the goals of increasing the ability of organizations or localities to carry out activities and/or projects that improve the availability and/or accessibility of affordable housing.

The Request for Proposals can be found on OHFA’s RFP page. Prior to submitting a full proposal, OHFA requests that applicants submit a short, non-binding statement of interest by March 20 by email to TAG@ohiohome.org. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. EDT on March 29.
