HUD’s Office of Multifamily West Region (which covers Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington And Wyoming) issued a memo that nullifies the requirement to review the status of residents reporting zero or nominal (less than $100.00) income every 90 days. Instead, owners should have a set of written policies and procedures to review the status of residents reporting zero income, or nominal income, on a regular basis. The new notice, dated April 29, 2019, replaces the previous notice from Jan. 14, 2018, effective immediately.
