The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) received 47 applications requesting $42.7 million in Rental Housing Financing Program (RHFP) Funds and $68.9 million of federal LIHTC in the Spring 2019 Competitive Round. Six applications included requests for a total of $8.2 million in Partnership Rental Housing Program Funds (PRHP). The 47 applications proposed to create or rehabilitate 2,817 units in 15 counties and Baltimore City. There were 11 projects involving the “twinning” of nine percent LIHTC and MBP/four percent LIHTC and one permanent supportive housing application. A complete list of the applications can be found here.

DHCD is in the process of reviewing the applications. Threshold reviews are taking place over the next month, or so, and, as projects are reviewed, applicants will be notified if their projects fail to satisfy the threshold criteria. Applications that pass the threshold will move forward to scoring and DHCD expects to make funding announcements during the summer.
