The Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF) will host a CORES 101: Overview of the CORES Certification & Application webinar at 1:30 pm ET on March 17. The Certified Organization for Resident Engagement & Services (CORES) is an organization-level certification for affordable housing owners and third-party service providers that have a robust system of resident services, which drives towards better resident outcomes and well-being. The certification qualifies organizations for Fannie Mae’s Healthy Housing Rewards™ financing, is included in Virginia and Maryland’s LIHTC Qualified Allocation Plan applications and communicates the quality and strength of an organization’s programs to potential investors, funders and partners. It is based on SAHF’s Framework and Guidelines for the System of Resident Services Coordination and covers several key areas:

  • Commitment & Integration of Resident Services at Organizational Level;
  • Resident Services Staffing Infrastructure and Support;
  • Program and Partnership Development;
  • Using Data to Drive Program Design and Evaluation; and
  • Funding & Sustainability.

This webinar will provide an overview of the Framework for a System of Resident Services Coordination, review CORES certification requirements and the application process, and highlight a number of resources and tools that may be useful for organizations seeking to build their resident services capacity.
