The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Housing Program draft guidelines. Comments on the draft guidelines should be sent to tod@hcd.ca.gov by 5:00 pm PT on April 3. HCD will hold two webinars on the draft guidelines:

The primary goal of the TOD Housing Program is to stimulate housing developments near transit stations that include affordable units and promote the use of public transit. Under the program, low-interest loans are available as gap financing for rental housing developments that include affordable units. Grants are available to cities, counties and transit agencies for infrastructure improvements necessary for the development of specified housing developments or to facilitate connections between these developments and the transit station.
