The calendar year (CY) 2020 New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) notice of allocation availability (NOAA) references a new requirement for applicants to complete and save their NMTC application registration within the Awards Management Information System (AMIS) by October 9 at 5 p.m. ET. The NMTC application registration includes applicant information, such as applicant name and controlling entity name. After the NMTC application registration deadline, applicants will not be allowed to save their responses to the NMTC application registration. Only applicants who compete and save their NMTC application registration by the deadline will be allowed to submit a CY 2020 allocation application in AMIS. The CY 2020 NMTC Program Allocation Application Frequently Asked Questions document clarifies that no new CY 2020 allocation applications can be created after the NMTC application registration deadline. Therefore, potential applicants that did not start an allocation application before the application registration deadline will not be able to create a new CY 2020 NMTC allocation application.
