The Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Board of Directors named Winston Miller as its new executive director, effective November 16. Miller will replace Lisa Beran, KHC’s former general counsel, who served as interim director for more than a year.

Currently the deputy secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet, Miller has served as a proxy for Secretary Holly M. Johnson on the KHC Board of Directors since January 2020, which allowed him to learn more about KHC’s mission and innerworkings. Before joining the Finance and Administration Cabinet, Miller practiced law with Frost Brown Todd in Louisville, representing clients in state and federal courts. He specialized in civil cases involving business litigation, product liability, mass tort, fire and explosion and employment litigation and chaired the Client Service Team, earning his firm an Outstanding Law Firm of the Year designation. Though he has received numerous accolades throughout his career, he is proudest of the Special Commendation he earned for his work at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he represented the country in federal district and appellate courts.

Miller graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Kentucky and a juris doctorate from the UK J. David Rosenberg College of Law.
