The Department of the Treasury released a list of state and local governments that will receive grants through the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program. Each state received a minimum of $200 million and jurisdictions with populations greater than 200,000 were eligible to claim the money to distribute. Owners should check to see if their properties are located in a county or city that received money and contact them first before contacting the state. ERA can be used to provide up to 12 months of assistance (in the form of bank-rent or future rent), with an additional three months if necessary to ensure housing stability.
