Virginia Housing has decided to limit the state’s new Housing Opportunity Tax Credit to $15 million per fiscal year for five years, for an aggregate program amount of $75 million. This decision comes after consultation with the Secretary of Commerce and Trade, the bill sponsor Senator Mamie Locke (D), her chief of staff, the Secretary of Finance and the Department of Taxation.
