A new report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) recommends that HUD and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provide more guidance to local programs on how to help youth who are homeless. While HUD and HHS have taken steps to coordinate their programs that serve youth experiencing homelessness, more information is needed in the following areas: serving young adults through coordinated entry processes, coordinating to serve unaccompanied minors and coordinating HUD and HHS programs.
