Over the weekend, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) said he, “Cannot vote to continue with” the Build Back Better Act (BBB). Following Senator Manchin’s remarks, Democrats are planning to break up the legislation into smaller packages that can advance via regular order, budget reconciliation and executive order. The temporary 12.5 percent increase to LIHTC, which passed in 2018 will expire at the end of 2021. We are hopeful that an extension of the temporary increase will be included in a tax extenders package.
