The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released the Amended Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Round Two Homekey program. The following NOFA amendments clarify program requirements (identified in the NOFA as red font):

  • Allowance of LLC/LP organizations as co-applicants;
  • Clarify that congregate shelter models shall not be permitted;
  • Clarify site control and use restrictions for projects on tribal trust land;
  • Clarify requirements for tenant selection process and data collection systems;
  • Provide explanation for land use exemptions as outlined in statute; and
  • Several other minor items of clarification.

To the extent that any applicant feels its application has been negatively impacted by NOFA Amendments, HCD may allow for re-submission of application documentation for review. Applications will be accepted on a continuous, over-the-counter basis. Applications are due by May 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT, or until the available funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first.
