National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) released its Advocates’ Guide 2022: A Primer on Federal Affordable Housing & Community Development Programs & Policies, a comprehensive resource for advocates and others involved in many aspects of affordable housing and community development. Written by NLIHC staff and other leading experts in the field, Advocates’ Guide contains summaries of housing and community development programs, as well as housing policy advocacy tools and other information. 

This year’s Advocates’ Guide features new information about the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Emergency Rental Assistance program; NLIHC’s End Rental Arrears to Stop Evictions (ERASE) project and HoUSed campaign for racial housing justice and universal, stable and affordable housing; overcoming NIMBY opposition to affordable housing; and much more.
