Eastern Kentuckians impacted by the recent storms, flooding and mudslides can apply for disaster assistance. Currently, relief is available for renters and homeowners in Breathitt, Clay, Knott, Letcher and Perry counties, though more counties may be included later.

Apply online at disasterassistance.gov, by calling 800-621-3362 or on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mobile app.

FEMA also created a page with important resources relating to the disaster, including a guide on how to apply for assistance and a video that walks applicants through the process.

Governor Andy Beshear announced that travel trailers are being delivered to local parks—Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Floyd County and Mine Made Adventure Park in Knott County—for emergency sheltering. They are connected to utilities and more will arrive soon for those in need of temporary shelter.

Team Kentucky has set up the Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund to assist those impacted. To donate, visit TeamEKYfloodrelieffund.ky.gov. For additional flood resources, visit https://governor.ky.gov/floodresources.
