The Michigan State Housing Development Authority announced Amy Hovey will assume the role of executive director on January 23. Hovey brings to her new role experience in finance, government relations, commercial real estate, construction, housing and neighborhood revitalization. She began her career as a banker and went on to hold the position of senior vice president and CEO of the Center for Community Progress in Washington, DC. She served as a special project’s coordinator for the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and most recently worked with the State Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity as a contractor on housing matters. Hovey will be the first woman to serve as executive director of MSHDA (in a non-acting capacity) in its 56-year history.
