Last week, the HUD awarded $25 million to 157 public housing agencies (PHAs) experiencing or at risk of experiencing financial shortfalls. This Public Housing Operating Fund Shortfall funding, provided by the Fiscal Year 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act, will enable PHAs to continue serving residents as they take steps to ensure long-term financial solvency.

House Announces Tax Teams
House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) announced the establishment of ten “Tax Teams,” made up of Republican members of the committee, that will each focus on a specific aspect of tax policy to prepare for what is expected to be major tax legislation next year in advance of the expiration of many provisions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
