Last week the Senate passed a Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 appropriations package which included the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) bill.

The House delayed action on the three-bill ‘mini-omnibus’ containing HUD funding. The T-HUD funding bill drew criticism from many Northeast members for the deep cuts to Amtrack contained in the Transportation side of the bill.

Congressional leaders are now openly discussing a short-term continuing resolution through January 15 to avoid shutting down ahead of the November 17 deadline.
